Swimming Week 2023
Last week we went swimming. The name of my group was Jellyfish. I had Evie, Oscar, Jai, Boston, Noah, Levi C and Levi M in my group. We did safety and rescuing. I was the fastest to pull Oscar out of the water. Things I did was diving, torpedoes, floating on my back and front, back stroke, sinkies, horsey rides, pin drops, bombs, wearing life jackets and noodle race.
My swimming teacher was Roslyn. It was amazing and other people’s swimming look good.
Charlotte 1/2FD
My bus partner was Boston. My group was Sharks. The people in my group were Alarah, Eddie, Paddy, Harper, aria, Nate and Harlem. We did were horsey rides, rescuing, lots of swimming, backstroke, sinkies, floating on our backs and bombs. My favourite was horsey rides and the games, I felt more confident at swimming.
Zac 1/2FD
I was in the dolphin’s group. In my group were Nate, Dylan, Jorja, Brixton and Menley. We did back glides, jumps, torpedoes and wearing life jackets, safety and rescuing. You never swim by yourself, because you can drown. On the bus I sat next to Dylan. I loved swimming.

Boston 1/2FD
The name of my group was Sharks. I had Aria, Zac, Harper, Harlem, Eddie and Paddy in my group. We did torpedo and we went on the mat. We also did horsey rides, floating on our backs and sinkies. We did rescuing and we got to have a pool noodle to help people who were drowning. We learnt to not go in the pool when someone was drowning and we have to call 000 for help. We stayed on the steps waiting for our turn. My bus partner was Phoebe, Evie and Jorja. I really enjoyed swimming.

URGENT - Help St Mary's Bingo Committee
Our Parish has been running Bingo on a Saturday evening for close to 45 years. Over this time the school has received monetary donations of approx $12,000 per year, for support in achieving and maintaining larger projects around the school. just recently new airconditioning in the Marian Centre.
In raising this money, the small Bingo Committee, needs some support from our school families to volunteer and assist on the Bingo roster once or twice over an 8 week period .
The tasks that we require help in are -
- Ticket Selling - 6.30pm - 9.30pm - 3 hours
- Canteen - 6.30pm - 9.00pm - 2.5hours
- Caller - 7.30pm - 10.00pm - 2.5 hours. This is now done by 'auto call'
- Floor Walker - 7.30pm - 10.00pm - 2.5 hours. This is checking the winners ticket and calling back the ticket number
Bingo is held in the Marian Centre Saturday evenings for people in our community and volunteers will help other people from the committee, parish or the school. This is a great way to meet new people and help raise funds for our school and parish.
We thank all our families who are already helping, this is very much appreciated and we look forward to meeting new helpers for 2023.
