FARM
Johannes.Haumann@education.wa.edu.au
Just like that, the school holidays are over and 2026 has commenced in full swing. It has been a great first week with students back on site and their excitement to return to the Farm, and the school has been heart-warming.
Student Farm Induction
It has been a busy week, with inductions the main focus for our Year 10 students and new Year 11s. Along with all the inductions, the Farm continues to operate as usual.

Happenings Around the Farm
To list just a few of the activities staff and students have been involved in: checking and cleaning water troughs; milking; putting out hay and silage; installing nets over the Shiraz grapes; moving stock; working in the butcher shop; fixing water pipes; installing a new cattle crush in the beef area; cleaning pens; collecting eggs; bottling milk; weeding; mowing lawns; working in the gardens; completing workshop repairs; and general cleaning—the list goes on.

I can see a lot of potential in our new Year 10 and 11 students, and I look forward to watching them grow over the next few years.
The summer heat is always a challenge, and we must ensure our animals receive the necessary feed and minerals. We achieve this through rotational grazing, effective irrigation management, feeding silage and hay, providing lick blocks, and ensuring that our water troughs are clean and functioning properly.
The kitchen and butcher shop are fully stocked with eggs, milk, lamb, beef, pork, and plenty of fresh produce, all grown and produced on the Farm. A big thank you and well done to all the sections that keep us fed and happy.
