Welcome Back
The Trades Department has had a busy start to the year, and we welcome all new and returning students. Everyone appears to be quickly settling into their routines, with practical learning already well underway.

As always, we encourage parents and carers to reach out to our Trades staff at any time if they have questions or concerns throughout the year.
Staffing
This term brings a couple of staffing changes. As Shaun Cantwell is taking on the Deputy Principal role, I have stepped into the Head of Trades role while continuing my work in Building and Construction training.
We also extend a warm welcome to our relief staff who will be supporting various Trade areas: Craig Bates, Rob DenBoer, Ron Slipper, and Shane McKenna. We are very fortunate to have access to such experienced staff.
Our ongoing Trades staff include:
Duncan Campbell – Automotive.
Jamie Senbergs – Engineering.
Keith Briggs – Furnishings and Engineering.
Nicole Lawrence – EA (Thursdays).
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
By the end of this week, all students will have completed their Trades inductions, and new students will have received their Trades bag, which includes:
✔️ Safety glasses
✔️ Hearing protection
✔️ Gloves
Students are required to bring their PPE to every Trades session and ensure all equipment remains in good condition. If PPE is lost or damaged, replacements can be purchased from the Trades Office. Please note that protective equipment must not be shared between students.
Additionally, for construction work conducted outdoors, the same expectations apply as on the Farm, that students must bring and wear their College bucket hats during Terms 1 and 4 to ensure sun safety.
I would like to thank all students for their positive participation this week. Keep up the great effort, and we look forward to another successful year in Trades.
