Accessing Student Reports on Compass

Student Reports can be accessed each semester via the Compass Parent Portal. The benefit of this is that they are saved centrally for you to access at any time, and you can also print them if you wish.

  1. Log into Compass at https://greatryrieps-vic.compass.educationand enter your Username and Password. If you forget your pin, please contact the office.

  1. Once in your Home Page, click the link View Academic Reports.

After clicking on ‘2023 – Semester 2’ your child’s report will appear as a PDF and depending on your browser, may open automatically or ask whether you wish to save the file.

Once you have downloaded the report, it will have a front cover with your child’s name and photo.  Followed by a page for each: English, Mathematics, Integrated Studies- Term 1, Integrated Studies- Term 2, Indonesian, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Science and Technology, Physical Education, Personal and Social.

For English and Mathematics there will be a report that has an overview of what your student has been working on, followed by a graph showing the indicators of progress in English and Mathematics, a comment discussing what the student has achieved, Future Learning for the student and a tick box about the student’s general engagement.

For learning areas (such as the Integrated Studies and Specialist learning areas) where student reporting describes how well a student has mastered a particular aspect of learning within an expected range (or level) of achievement, the following five-point scale is used:

ScaleDescription
Requires support to meet expectationsThe student requires additional support to meet expectations of the learning task or unit of study

Partially meets expectations

The student meets an expectation of the learning task or unit of study

Working within expectations

The student meets a variety of expectations related to the learning task or unit of study, but not all expectations

Meets all expectations

The student meets all expectations of the learning task or unit of study

Working beyond expectations

The student is working beyond the expectations set for the learning task or unit of study and requires extension

There will also be a four-point scale describing how a student has engaged and participated in the learning area.

If there is an empty box in the Specialist report (no tick) it means that the student was absent due to illness or extra-curricular events during the time where that skill/concept was taught and were not able to be assessed.

For the final page of the report, it will focus on the Learner Dispositions of the student using a four-point scale followed by a Social and Personal teacher comment.
