A great term of teaching and learning

I hope this newsletter finds you well as we continue our journey through another exciting school term. We have had a busy five weeks packed with learning, excursions, sporting events and subject selections. I have been impressed by the work of our staff and students and I am extremely proud of their effort and achievements. The commitment to learning, growth, and community is evident in every classroom and activity. It's truly inspiring to see the hard work and positive attitudes that make our school a place where everyone can connect, succeed and thrive.

I have included some photos from just a sample of the amazing things happening at Cecil Hills High School!

School Uniform

In previous newsletters I have communicated the importance of school uniform and its role in promoting an inclusive environment. With parent, carer and student support we have seen a significant improvement in the number of uniform infringements this term and I would like to thank our community for your support.

Earlier this year I communicated some minor changes to the footwear students are expected to wear in 2025. As we approach the end of the year students may require new shoes, as such I’d like to remind our community of the changes for next year. From 2025 all students must wear black leather (not suede) lace up shoes with a hard sole. I have included an infographic below for your reference. If you have any questions, please contact the school.

School Planning

In my previous newsletter I referenced the External Validation process and the exciting steps our school will take to inform our new Strategic Improvement Plan.  As part of our Parent/Carer Information Session on Monday night (26 August 2024) we will provide our community with the first opportunity to contribute their thoughts on how we can improve our programs and initiatives. Together, as partners in learning, we can create a learning environment that meets the needs of all our students.

Building Project

I am excited to share some progress pictures of our new building project.  These new spaces will provide modern facilities that enhance our educational offerings as well as supporting our growing school community.

Year 12

As our Year 12 students enter their final weeks of school, I want to acknowledge their hard work and dedication. These last few weeks are crucial, and I encourage our senior students to stay focused, seek support when needed, and finish strong.   We are all cheering you on!

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school.

Regards,
