Principal's Message
Thank you St Andrew's Community!
Dear Families,
Welcome to Term 3! I hope everyone has had a lovely break, it was a good chance to rest and reset before another busy term. It is hard to believe half the year is over!
Last term ended with lots of festivities as we said farewell to our beloved Principal, Paul Wakeling, as a community St Andrew's saw him off with lots of joy and fun!
There will be more information shared through the newsletter around the process of appointing a new principal for 2025. The Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools (MACS) will be leading this process with representatives from MACs, Fr Joe, an experienced principal as well as two appointed parents from the school community. They will all undergo training before embarking on this important job.
This term we have Year 5 and 6 students swimming in weeks 3 and 4 and then Prep, 1 and 2 students swimming in weeks 7 and 8. Information has been communicated about the senior school swimming from Kayla Puetz, PE teacher, information regarding the junior school swimming will be sent shortly.
We also have Athletics Carnival next Thursday, 25th July for all Years 3-6 students. For the day to go ahead we will need parent volunteers to attend and support the day. If you are able and willing to help, please email kpuetz@saclaytonsth.catholic.edu.au and nblack@saclaytonsth.catholic.edu.au.
This year we will be celebrating Children's Book Week at St Andrew's. The theme is "Reading is Magic". It will be marked in Week 6, the 19th August to 23rd of August. We are excited to announce we will have Ben Wood, the illustrator of Real Pigeons, amongst many other books, coming to visit us at school. As part of his visit, there is an opportunity for families to purchase books that will be delivered to school (see brochure below). https://sunbookshop.com/search/~/search_ben%20wood
HAVE YOU ENROLLED YOUR CHILD FOR PREP 2025?
If you have a child ready for Prep 2025, we encourage you to please put in an enrolment form as soon as possible. This will help us with organisation purposes. To access an enrolment form:
The 2024 School Calendar is available on the School Website. It can be found mid-way down on the front page under the heading ‘WHAT’S ON’. We will endeavour, where possible, to remain true to the dates on the 2024 calendar. We would recommend that parents make a regular visit to the school website to see updates on all school events.
