Senior School
Subject Changes for Years 9 and 10
The Senior School timetables have been structured around elective choices made in 2023 and earlier this year. In some situations, students may need to change their elective choices due to changing interests and clashes; however, this impacts teaching and learning programs, as well as resource allocation.
Be aware that no elective changes will be made after Friday 16 August.

Fight MND Big Freeze 10 2024, hosted by R5 & R8 Tutor Groups
Wednesday 24 July - 11am | Week 1 Term 3
Students from these Tutor Groups and the Service Committee have organised a fundraiser event with staff members bravely registering their interest to “take the plunge” for an important cause. Motor neurone disease (MND) is a debilitating disease which attacks the patient’s nerves and takes away their ability to walk, speak, swallow and ultimately breathe with an average life expectancy of just 27 months from diagnosis. With many family members and friends of our School community affected by MND this is a valuable opportunity to raise much needed funds and awareness.
Students, staff and community members are invited to come along to the Top Basketball Courts at the Senior School Campus from 11am to 11.30am to show their support on Wednesday 24 July.
You can donate to our fundraiser using this LINK or by making a cash donation at the Senior School office.

Years 3-12 Marimba Concert
Thursday 1 August
We warmly invite families and members of our school community to join us in The Farrall Centre at 6pm on Thursday 1 August for our annual Years 3 - 12 Marimba Concert. All of our Senior School Marimba groups will be performing.
Year 9 & Year 10 PE Aquatics program:
First 6 weeks of Term 3
All students in Years 9 will participate in an Aquatics program. It is anticipated that all students will participate in this program as this is part of the Australian Curriculum and an element of our Year 9 Physical Education Curriculum. Students will access Friends Health & Fitness one lesson each week to use the swimming pool and facilities. The focus of these programs is to develop students’ swimming, survival and water rescue skills so they gain the confidence and fitness to be able to enjoy activities in aquatic environments in the future.
In Year 10, students self-select to complete competencies towards attaining the Life-Saving Bronze Medallion Award run by certified staff and supported by Royal Life Saving Tasmania.
In preparation for these Term 3 programs, we encourage all students to use the next few weeks to organise the gear that is needed for their aquatics session so they are ready to swim in Week 1 of Term 3. This includes: swimmers, goggles, swim cap and towel.
