Lantern Festival

‘Lanterns shining all around

Our songs do make a lovely sound’

It is always a magical experience to be under our big Central Australian sky at night-time and it is extra special to come together as a community and sing by lantern light in celebration of winter! The children sang so beautifully and it was such a joy to see their bright little faces taking it all in. Thank you to those who helped make it such a magical evening; Letetia, Felicia, Sophie, Jemima and Dierdre. Also thank you to Anna, my daughter who came and sang for me to make up for my croaky voice!

Thank you, families, for coming and for holding the space in quiet wonder; quietness and wonder can be such a healing balm amongst the busyness and hustle of daily life.

Goodbye Felicia

We say goodbye to Felicia who is leaving us at the end of this term. A big thank you to you Felicia, for your care of the children in Cassia this semester. We wish you well in all your future endeavours.

A reminder regarding reports:

The school will send out your child’s report at the end of term. At this age the children change and grow quickly; so please know that it is just a glimpse into their development and what they are doing now; they may have completely moved on and be doing something very different next term or by the end of the year. We ask for these reasons that you do not show the report to your child or even let them know a report has been received.  It is just for you! The children are not of an age where direct feedback of their school report is helpful to them. Children should be blissfully unaware of any assessment at this age. We will use the parent/teacher conversation day to follow up and expand on the report if required and anything else you may wish to discuss. I look forward to this time with you.

This week is our last week of school for Term 2. What a busy and wonderful term we have had. I hope so much you all have a restful break and enjoy some time out from the busy school routine.

Thank you to all the parents and families for your support. We have simply loved the term with your precious children. They are shining examples of the love and care you give them.

With warm wishes for your winter holiday,

M’Lis
