Adventures

How quickly can a term fly... superfast! It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming the students back to school, and now we're already wrapping up another term. The past months have been incredibly productive and filled with a wide range of exciting Main Lessons. We've explored the fascinating world of Physics of Air and Water. Additionally, we delved into the magical realms of Shakespeare with "A Midsummer Night's Dream," brought to life by our beloved Katy Egger. The students were captivated by the enchanting story and gained a deep appreciation for Shakespearean literature.

In mathematics, we've covered a fair bit of ground, particularly in fractions and algebra. The students have shown great enthusiasm and progress in these challenging topics. We're also nearly finished with our class novel, "King of Shadows" by Susan Cooper. The adventures of the protagonist have sparked lively discussions and a strong connection with the material.

Our German lessons concluded the semester on a high note with a pretzel-baking session. The classroom was filled with the delightful aroma of freshly baked pretzels, and the students thoroughly enjoyed this hands-on cultural experience. It was a delicious way to end our language studies for the term.

On a sad note, we must say goodbye to Addra and the Stay Family. Your presence has been a bright spot in our class and the school community. You will be greatly missed, and we wish you all the best on your new adventures.

As you read these lines, our crew has embarked on our annual camp, this year to the beautiful Katherine region. The students are exploring Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge), Cutta Cutta Caves, and the famous Mataranka Hot Springs. This trip promises to be full of excitement and learning, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Looking ahead, we are eagerly anticipating Term 3 for Semester 2, 2024. Another highlight awaits us: our 5-day Camel Trek. This adventure will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience for the students. No rest for the wicked!

See you soon!
