Upper Secondary (Years 9-10)
Excursions
9/10s have been on some exciting excursions this Term. Some of the places visited are as follows- Eureka Tower, Melbourne Zoo, Sydenham Library, Roller Skating, Aami park and Botanic Gardens. Students are supported to access public transport to develop their independence and confidence in navigating Melbourne’s transport system. We explore fun places while we learn!

World of Work
9/10s have been hard at work in the final term of the Hungry Flame café for 2024.
9/10C have been cooking up a storm in the kitchen! 9/10A have been working on their service skills, and 9/10B have been working on making free meal vouchers for our exciting competitions!
Numeracy
9/10s have been hard at work learning real world skills in Numeracy.
We have had a large focus on counting money, calculating change, and working within a budget. These are some valuable skills which will support us in the future to be independent with our money.
9/10B have been working as a team to count large values of money. Check it out! After the task, we discussed how we used all our employability skills to be successful in the task.
Senior Secondary (VPC/ASDAN)
ASDAN students have had a busy week. We are continuing to visit lawn bowls and Sunshine library on Mondays.
On Thursdays 10-12A work at Sunshine Hospital and 10-12B work at Westvale Community Centre on Kings Road. Fridays continue to be ASDANS travel training day! 10-12A will continue to visit Highpoint to develop students independence, shopping skills and confidence when out and about in the community and 10-12B will start to venture further afield to Williamstown, Altona and South Melbourne Market in coming weeks.
