Kangan Institute’s ‘Project Runway’ Fashion Competition
My name is Amber Walker and I am a student at Staughton College in Year 11.
I am a VET Fashion student who entered a competition at Kangan Institute towards the end of Term 3, as part of the competition I had to design a dress around the theme of Enchantment/Magical. I had to submit a design along with my thoughts around the theme which was set.
I was one of three winners from Victorian schools with my dress chosen by the Institute. My dress is currently being produced by the Kangan staff and I have been to workshops with them to select fabrics, discuss the design and the finishing touches to the garment. The dress is going to be on the catwalk, worn by their models at their annual Fashion parade of TAFE students work. This has been such a great learning experience, and I am very proud of my work.
In the next newsletter I will be showing you the fabrics I selected and my final garment.
