Cultural Family Picnic
Staughton’s annual Cultural Family Picnic was held on the 17th of October this year, and we had an amazing line up of performances as usual. This makes our 10th year of celebrating our cultural diversity through an end of year picnic, and it has definitely grown. We were very proud of the diverse dances and songs we saw this year, from cultures such as Chinese, Mhong, Congolese, Tongan, Cook Islands, Samoan, Maori, and Filipino. This event is led by our Cultural Ambassadors, and was hosted by Nermeen Abdelaal, Charlotte Nagahesi, and Karlie Yeung. We also had Mana Choir, our in-house Pasifika choir, perform. This is their first year, and we are excited to see, or rather, hear, more from them!
Many thanks to our external service partners, the Long Walk Foundation, Melton Young Communities, Reclink Australia, African Youth Initiative, Centre for Multicultural Youth, and the Western Bulldogs, for engaging with our community. We also had traditional food provided by Kiwi Pacific, Unique African Restaurant, and Leigh’s Kitchen and Catering.
