Dear Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Maths Afternoon! We had a fantastic turnout, with families enthusiastically engaging in a variety of hands-on maths activities. It was wonderful to see so many parents, guardians and students working together, exploring maths in an interactive and enjoyable way.
Family partnerships are incredibly valuable in a child’s learning journey, especially in areas like mathematics. When families participate in learning activities, students benefit from the encouragement and positive reinforcement of seeing maths as both meaningful and fun. This partnership helps strengthen the learning that takes place in the classroom and reinforces the message that learning is a shared experience. Your presence and enthusiasm made a real difference!
A special highlight of the event was the role our students played as activity leaders. It was inspiring to watch them take on leadership responsibilities, guiding others through activities and sharing their knowledge. This approach is part of our commitment to fostering leadership skills, giving our students a voice and promoting student agency. By leading these activities, our students had the opportunity to develop their communication and interpersonal skills, which are essential for their future growth.
I would personally like to thank Mrs Susie Camilleri for her passion and commitment in organising this event. From coming up with the idea to meticulously planning and executing every detail.
Thank you once again for your support. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate learning together as a community!
Warm regards,
Rudy Vail
