Message From Our

Principal

Dear Sacred Heart Community,

It has been an incredibly vibrant and eventful fortnight at Sacred Heart, filled with moments of celebration, engagement and community spirit.  I’m thrilled to share some highlights with you.

Athletics Carnival

Last Friday, we were fortunate to have the weather on our side for our much-anticipated annual Sacred Heart Athletics Carnival.

The day was a shining example of the enthusiasm and school spirit that defines Sacred Heart. Our students participated with immense energy and sportsmanship, making the event a true celebration of teamwork and personal achievement. I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Nilbett, whose dedication ensured the day’s success, as well as to our wonderful Sacred Heart staff and the numerous parent volunteers who generously offered their time and support. Special recognition goes to Mr. Tartaglia for his meticulous work in preparing the school grounds for the competition, which added to the overall experience.

Congratulations to all students for their positive participation, and a special applause for the Geary Sporting House, which proudly took home the overall athletics points trophy. What a tremendous effort!

Father’s Day Breakfast

Our annual Father’s Day (Blokes) Breakfast was another heartwarming event, filled with camaraderie and appreciation. It was truly uplifting to see so many fathers and significant male figures joining us to celebrate this special day. The morning was filled with smiles, laughter, and delicious egg and bacon sandwiches, thanks to the excellent catering by the Tatura Lion’s Club. It was a delight to witness the strong sense of community as dads and students shared this meaningful time together. I want to express my sincere thanks to all the Sacred Heart staff who ensured the event ran smoothly and that our guests felt warmly welcomed and cared for.

School Fee Commitments

As we approach the end of Term 3, I would like to remind families of the importance of fulfilling school fee commitments. All outstanding fees from previous years, along with the 2024 fees, are due by the end of this term. We understand that circumstances can sometimes make it challenging to meet these commitments, so I encourage any families needing assistance to please contact me directly. We are here to support you, and I’m happy to discuss payment arrangements. To schedule an appointment, please reach out to Debbie Worm at the school office.

Foundation 2025 Interviews

I have had the great privilege of meeting with the families of our incoming 2025 Foundation students over the past couple of weeks. These interviews have been a wonderful opportunity to connect with our future students and their families, and I am truly grateful for the time shared together. Mrs. Felicity Bryant and I are now finalising the Transition Program for Term 4, which promises to be an exciting journey for our newest members.  We will be sharing more information in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth and joyful transition for all.

Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our Sacred Heart community. Together, we continue to create an environment where our students thrive, feel safe and valued, and are inspired to reach their full potential.

I wish you all a wonderful rest of your week and a relaxing, enjoyable weekend.

God bless,

Jamie McDowall
