Year Six
Dear Year Six Families,
We are halfway through the term already! It really is flying by. The students have been hard at work on their Year Six Exhibition. We are only two weeks away from presenting on September 11th. The students cannot wait for their family and friends to see their hard work!
Exhibition
Currently students have been working on their action pieces for exhibition. With many students contacting professionals to seek advice on their topics. These action pieces will allow students to become knowledgeable in their topic, raising awareness for the issue at hand.
Literacy
This week in Literacy students completed their text innovations. With each class selecting a Mentor Text, and creating their own stories with illustrations to go with it. Students absolutely loved this experience, with students hopefully looking to become their own authors in the future!
Book Day - Parade
We are thrilled to share that our annual Book Parade was a huge success! The students showed incredible creativity and enthusiasm in their costumes, bringing their favorite book characters to life. The Year 5/6 students had an especially fun time parading on the basketball court, adding extra energy to the event. To capture these wonderful memories, we have taken photos of the day, which will soon be available for you to view. Please keep an eye out for further details on how to access these photos. Thank you for your continued support in making this day special for our students!
Maths
In Mathematics, students have continued looking at Fractions & Decimals, with their Post test coming up shortly! We are so proud of how hard students have worked looking at the connection between decimals, fractions and percentages. We know that their post test results will reflect their hard work!
Melbourne Museum Excursion
Over the past fortnight, all Year Six students got the chance to attend the Melbourne Museum and find ways to create their own exhibits engaging and interactive. They also got to see an amazing documentary by Jane Goodall 'Reason for Hope'. Which showed some of the most impressive forms of action used across the globe. Students will now use the skills learnt in the I-MAX film, to create their own action pieces in exhibition.
