Message from Principal Sarah

From Sarah Nightingale, Principal

What a busy two weeks we have had since our last newsletter publication! We have enjoyed our Book Week celebrations, the 3-6 House Athletics Day, our Junior House Sports Day and the Family Brekky BBQ to name a few events.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in the preparation and running of these events and to those that came along to enjoy them.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Our Parent Teacher Interviews will be held this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon across both campuses (Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th September). These interviews provide a forum to acknowledge student progress and achievement over the term. This term, we are offering both face to face and remote interview slots to allow families more of an opportunity to touch base with teachers.

Year 5 Camp

Next week (Week 9), we send our Year 5 students off on their Adventure Camp. We wish them well as they participate in a range of adventure activities including mountain bike riding, rafting and abseiling. We can’t wait to hear all about it when they return!

Parent/Carers Opinion Survey Reminder

As shared in previous newsletters, our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. A random sample of parents / caregivers / guardians have been selected to participate in this year’s survey and sent the information via email.

The survey will remain open online until Friday 20 September 2024 (date extension to the end of Term 3).

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The survey is being conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers.

The survey is available in English and 10 other languages: Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If you require assistance in another language, resources may be available for you. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school if you require assistance in another language.

If you received the survey via email and you haven’t already, please take the time to complete this survey before Friday 20th  September. Thank you!
