Colac Division Badminton Tournament
Congratulations to the students who competed in the Colac Division Badminton Tournament last Friday at the Colac Showgrounds. Sacred Heart were the overall winners on the day. The girls overall score was 396 points while the boys scored 365. These are very high scores. A big thank you to Lauren Campigli for sharing her expertise with our students and to Jo Cook and Karen Scholes for their help on the day.
Tenpin Bowling
Each term we work on different sporting skills in the Physical Education classes. In Year 3 one of the upcoming skills is Tenpin Bowling. Our Year 3 student this Friday 23rd August, will travel by bus to the Colac Tenpin Bowling Centre to practice their skills. The bus will leave Sacred Heart at 11:30am and return at 2:30pm. Tenpin Bowling will start at 12:00 noon. After their bowling lesson, the Year 3 students will walk over to the Memorial Square to have a picnic with their packed lunch (no lunch orders for these classes on this day). Students will need to wear their sports uniform.
Please note: The Year 3 students who have Sacramental practise at the church earlier on this day, will walk from the church with Mrs McGuane to the Tenpin Bowling Centre.

Netball Victoria School Championships
On Tuesday 27th August our Sacred Heart netball team will travel to Melbourne to play in the Victorian School Netball Championship Finals. The girls will travel by bus to this event. The bus will leave Sacred Heart Gym carpark at 6:00pm and return at 5:00pm. Students will need to wear their sports uniform (dresses will be supplied). If parent/guardians/grandparents would like to travel on the bus to this event, can they please indicate on PAM. We wish Coach Sally Montano and the girls all the best on the day.

Regional Lawn Bowls
The Regional Lawn Bowls Final is getting closer and our three winning teams are in training. The Regional event will take place on Wednesday 4th September at the Sebastopol Bowling Club, Ballarat. We will travel by bus to this event. The bus will leave Sacred Heart gym carpark at 8:00pm and return at 3:45pm. Students will need to wear their sports uniform and bring along their school hat, sunscreen, snacks, fruit, lunch and water bottle.

The Sacred Heart Lawn Bowls teams will travel to the Colac Bowling Club (by the Lake) this Friday 23rd August for a practise. We will leave Sacred Heart by bus at 9:00am and return at 10:45am.

Colac All-Girls Superkick
AFL Barwon are offering a program for girls interested in football. This program is called the Colac All-Girls Superkick. This will start on Wednesday 21st August from 4:15 – 5:15pm at the Western Oval (please see Community page of newsletter).
Colac Girls Cricket
The Colac Cricket Association are offering the girls a 6 week cricket program commencing on Monday 26th August from 4:00pm – 5:00pm. More details attached (please see flyer on Community page of newsletter).
Colac Division Golf Tournament
Good luck to the students who signed up for the Colac Division Golf Tournament on Friday 30th August at the Colac Golf Club. The day will commence at 9:15am and finish at 1:15pm. Students will travel by bus to this event. Students will need to wear their sports uniform, their school hat, snacks, fruit and drink bottle. A big thank you to the parents/grandparents who have offered to walk around the course with the golf students. Could all helpers please make sure the office has a copy of your current Working With Children Check.

Winter Sport – Round 3
This Friday 23rd August our Year 5 and 6 students will compete against St Mary’s Primary School in Round 3 of the Winter Sport Competition. This will take place at Sacred Heart. The sports offered by are Football, Netball, Soccer, Volleyball, Mixed Games, Table Tennis and Hot Shot Tennis.
Students will need to wear their sports uniform and bring along the appropriate uniform for their selected sport. Drink bottles will also be needed. Students can still have a lunch order on this day.
AFL 9’s Football
The two Sacred Heart Black Teams (boys/girls) who were the winners at the Colac Division AFL 9’s Competition will progress to the Greater Western Regional Final on Wednesday 11th September at Victoria Park, Ballarat.

State Netball Finals
Congratulations to our Boys netball team that have qualified to compete in the State Netball Championships on Wednesday 18th September at Waverley Netball Centre. The boys will travel by bus to this event.
Parent/guardians/grandparents are welcome to travel on the bus to this event.
