Heads of House

Gandhi House

Thank you for an incredible Term Three, Gandhi House. The collective passion, enthusiasm and spirit is infectious for all and it is such a privilege to see it every day. This term has been incredibly successful for Gandhi House across a number of House events such as the Interhouse Athletics Carnival and Battle of the Bands. What has also been great this term is an incredible increase in Pulse completion weekly and PCG quizzes with consistently high Gandhi participation. This measure of success during PCG time begins to speak to the passion and enthusiasm of Gandhi students, but also begins to highlight the sense of camaraderie within PCGs for all students calling Gandhi House home.

The Gandhi PCG staff are exceptional, and I would like to thank them for their consistent support of the students within PCG time and energy they bring every morning. All these steps build a House that is in good stead to succeed not only with results, but also in building a rich culture and sense of connectedness throughout students from all year groups.

I look forward to seeing this continue into Term Four and I wish everyone a safe and relaxing holiday break.

Lincoln House

Term Three has ended with another great Mandela Charity Day in which all students could get up on stage and show off their talents to the school. This has been a successful term in Lincoln House, winning the last House event - Battle of the Bands. I encourage everyone in Lincoln to continue with this momentum in Term Four by ensuring they bring in any of their remaining House tokens to place in the jar, as it will be the final count for the year.

I would also like to see as many students as possible sign up for House Week next term as it will be one of the final events that students will be able to earn House points.

Term Three has been particularly busy and I want to once again thank all the fantastic Lincoln students who have given their time to the House, attending events and meetings, earning tokens, completing PULSE and just in general being the best students.

Happy and safe holidays - rest and recharge for Term Four!

Mandela House

Today is an extra special one for Mandela, our annual Charity Day Talent Show taking place at the Perth Town Hall. A huge thank you to Mrs de Witt for being Acting Head of House for the day and managing the event, Wil Moesker our House Captain for being Master of Ceremony, Mr Newton for managing the sound, all Mandela staff for the PCG setup, teaching staff and Executive, but most importantly a huge thank you to all the performers and Mandela students for your work in making the day such a success.

It is always amazing for the whole school to see the amount of hard work and talent on display. Well done to the winners and the People’s Choice Award. Money was raised for AnglicareWA and WA Foundation for Deaf Children.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr Sloan on his new appointment as Head of Mandela for 2025, as I move to the role of Head of Year 7 and 8. Mandela House is in very safe hands, and I look forward to seeing the House continue to flourish and thrive. I will remain a committed member of Mandela House and will see you in the pool for Synch Swim!

Over the holidays I am on a Service-Learning trip with St George’s students to All Saints Primary School in Samoa. I look forward to sharing our experiences with you and I wish you all the best for the holidays.
