What a huge day it was on Friday, 23rd of August, as we headed across to FDBA for a tournament against the Bayside District. Each team played 11 games back-to-back with no breaks!
The day was filled with outstanding resilience and sportsmanship from both teams. The girls team shone brightly, finishing as Runners-Up in Division 1, winning 10 out of their 11 games. Their determination and teamwork were truly inspiring.
The boys team also put in a tremendous effort, finishing in 4th place and winning 8 out of their 11 matches. Their hard work and dedication were evident in every game.
A huge thank you to Lauren A. and Hanna S. for coaching the two teams with such fairness and encouragement. Your support and guidance were invaluable, and I couldn’t have managed the day without you.
All students who participated should be incredibly proud of their efforts!

We are thrilled to announce that St Brendan's was chosen by Cricket Victoria for a special visit from the Melbourne Stars! Being the luckiest primary school on the Mornington Peninsula, we were selected because Tash, who ran our Cricket Blast program in Term 1, was so impressed with our kids that she recommended us. We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity.
We had an amazing lineup of guests:
The passion for cricket at St Brendan's was truly on display as our Year 3/4 students eagerly participated. They played games, asked questions, and enjoyed the prizes and giveaways at the end of the session. The kids had an absolute ball!
If your child is interested in playing cricket over the summer, Somerville CC is a great place to start. Feel free to reach out to them with any questions.
Bayside District Cricket Competition
This Friday, some of our Year 5/6 students will be heading to Robertson Park in Frankston to compete in a Cricket Day with the Bayside District. The event is a round-robin tournament, giving the kids a chance to have some fun and get to know other students in the area.
A big thank you to Miss Waldock and Miss Brickwood for stepping in to coach our wonderful teams on the day. Their support and enthusiasm will undoubtedly make this a memorable experience for all involved.
We wish our students the best of luck and hope they enjoy the day!
