ASHEFEST 2023

Over the two days of September, 6th and 7th, our Indigenous students represented St. Brendan's Primary School at Ashefest.

Each year, the Academy of Sport, Health and Education (ASHE) hosts an educational community event where schools across the Goulburn Valley come together to celebrate the history and culture of Indigenous people. 

Our students in Foundation to Year 3 attended Wednesday and our Years 4-6 attended Thursday, alongside Mrs. Kelly and Mr. Brian. 

Our students were able to actively participate in many fun traditional games such as Gorri, a ball game and Jumpinpin (links are attached below with game rules and descriptions), traditional art and artefact education.

Ashefest is a highlight for our students and we look forward to attending again next year.
