Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a time to celebrate the incredible women in our lives who nurture, guide, and love us unconditionally. This year, let's take a moment to honour the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and all maternal figures who shape our world with their endless care and support. Below you will see DCS students share heartfelt sentiments about the remarkable women they call 'Mum'. Let's cherish and appreciate them not just on this day, but every day.

I love my mum because she brings me on amazing trips and hugs me when I am sad.

I love my mum because she is kind and is there for me when I need her.

I love my mum because she spends great time with me and she might take us to Canberra.

I love spending time with her and when she cuddles me at night.

I love my mum because she cooks me amazing food and recommends me books.

I love my mum because she comforts me when I am sad and when I need her. She helps me brainstorm ideas for my stories.

I love my mum because she is loving. She gives me cuddles too.

She is awesome and beautiful. She cares for me and she packs my lunch.

I love that my mum is always there for me when I am sad.

My mum is kind and caring.

I love my mum because I love playing soccer outside with her.

I love my mum because I like hanging out with her. We draw and bake.

I love my mum in every way, whether it's her cooking with me, playing basketball and anything else!

I love my mum because she is so nice and caring. She gives me food and drives me to cool places. She gives me the things I need and she loves me.

I love my mum because she gives me lots of treats and she gives me hugs and kisses.

I love my mum because she buys me lots of jewellery.

I love my mum because she gave me a teddy bear when I was a baby

I love my mum because she gives me cuddles in bed

Walk Safely to School Day

This year National Walk Safely to School Day is being held on Friday 10th May. This is a wonderful opportunity to gather as the DCS Community with our families and friends.

We will be meeting at the Splash carpark ready to leave at 8am and walking to school together via the walking track.  Once we arrive at school, Breakfast Club will be open for breakfast treats and hot drinks.

But wait…there’s more!

All parents who wish to stay on for assembly can catch the DCS Bus back to Splash! The bus will be leaving from the Secondary area after assembly from 8:45am to get you back to your car if you wish. Otherwise, enjoy the walk back along the Don tracks at your leisure.

All families are welcome to attend! As this is a community event it is expected that students will walk under the supervision of their families.

This event will be weather permitting. Families will be notified via Schoolbox and Facebook should we need to cancel.

We are looking forward to a great morning!

Family and Friend's Morning

Primary students would like to welcome family and friends to come and join them at school on Monday 13th May from 8.30am-10.45am.

Please join us for assembly at 8.30am, open classrooms at 8.45am and followed by morning tea in the JILOA Centre at 10.00am, concluding the morning at 10.45am.

Primary Cross Country

All Primary students will be participating in the DCS Primary Cross Country on Wednesday 22nd May from 8.50am (at the conclusion of our Worship Wednesday assembly).

The course will be conducted at DCS with students commencing on the Don Oval. Each year level will complete a specially designed course of varied lengths for their year level group.

Please ensure that on the day your child wears their P.E. uniform. A house-coloured t-shirt can be worn in place of the P.E. t-shirt, and students should bring the following:

  • Plenty of water to drink
  • Jumper/raincoat
  • Spare clothes, shoes and socks in case they get wet and/or muddy.

This will once again be a wonderful community event, with all community members welcome to come and support students.   Events such as the Primary Cross Country cannot run smoothly without the incredible help and support from our parents and volunteers.

Please click here if you are available on Wednesday 22nd May to volunteer throughout the day, and have completed our Working With Our Children Course this year.
