On Sunday the 21st of April, the Symphonic Band marched as part of the ANZAC Day ceremony for the Ringwood RSL. The students met with Mr. Muddyman and marched along Maroondah Highway to the clock tower where they performed the Australian and New Zealand national anthems, accompanied by Jorji S on vocals, for a large and very attentive congregation. Our school captains both took part in the laying of the wreath and after the full ceremony, marched back to the Ringwood RSL.
On Thursday the 25th of April, the same dedicated and well rehearsed group of students went in the Melbourne CBD to take part in the March down St. Kilda road to the Shrine of Remembrance for the ANZAC Day Parade.
Lead by Mr. Muddyman and the school captains, the Symphonic Band performed all the way along St Kilda Rd to much applause and encouragement from a large audience.
On behalf of the Music Program, we would like to thank all the students and their families for their dedication and support of this event which Vermont Secondary College has been involved with for many years.
The students conducted themselves in a most respectful and positive manner and should be so proud of their efforts in the lead up and on the day.
Huge thanks to Mrs. Julie Plitas for taking some wonderful photos of the event in the CBD.
