Greater Western Cross Country
Congratulations to the students have qualified for the Greater Western Cross Country at Albert Park in Warrnambool next Monday 27th May. The bus will leave St Mary’s Catholic Church carpark at 8:15am and students will return to Sacred Heart at approximately 2:15pm. Students will need to wear their sports uniform, bring along their drink bottle, fruit, snacks and lunch. Please watch the weather forecast for extra clothing to keep warm. Cross Country merchandise will be for sale for any students who would like to purchase a hoodie, beanie etc. A canteen is also available on the day.

Colac Division Girls Football Team
Well done to our girl’s football team that competed in the Colac Division Girls Football Championships last Friday at the Colac Central Reserve. The girls did very well and were Runners-up on the day. A big thank you to Tom Rieniets and the parents who assisted on the day. The girls had a great day. Thanks also to the six past students who umpired on the day. They did a fabulous job at such short notice.
Colac Division Boys Netball Teams
Well done to our two boy’s netball teams that competed in the Colac Division Boys Netball Championships last Friday at the Colac Eastern Reserve. Both teams made the finals and had to compete against each other. Sacred Heart Black were the overall winners on the day and will now compete in the Greater Western Boys Netball Championships on Friday 21st June at Colac Eastern Reserve. Thanks to Lisa Egan and the parents/grandparents who assisted and supported the day. A big thank you to the Trinity students who umpired on the day.
Congratulations to Bodhi Baker, Jack Seuren, Max Mitchell, Zaiden Finn, Hudson Oborne, Talon Borch, Seth Cameron and Finley Geary. Thanks to Kade Genua for assisting with the scoring on the day.

Sport and Rec Trinity Students Visit
On Tuesday 28th May, the Sport and Recreation class from Trinity College will be visiting the school to take some of the Tuesday sports classes. The Trinity students have just completed a coaching course in AFL football and will be showcasing their coaching skills to the following classes – Foundation ME, Foundation SN and Year 2 PM. Students may like to wear a football jumper. Football boots are not required.
Colac Division Soccer
A big thank you to all the students in Year 5/6 that trialled for the Sacred Heart soccer teams. Congratulations to the following students who will compete at the Colac Division Soccer Championships on Thursday 6th June at the Colac Central Reserve. 1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are basketball and Little Athletics.
2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is basketball.
3. Why is this your favourite sport? Netball is my favourite sport to play because I get to be active and it is fun.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I when I won the Horsham basketball tournament two years in a row.
5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my running and jumping skills and my flexibility.
6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I love staying active.
7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Stephen Curry.
8. Why are they your favourite? Stephen Curry is my favourite sports person because he is good at shooting 3’s like me.
9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is Golden State Warriors – NBA team.
10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach would describe me as fast and athletic.

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are soccer and basketball.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Soccer is my favourite sport because I love the game and I am getting better at it all the time.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I blocked the ball
of one of the good soccer players and he couldn’t score a goal.
5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my agility skills and because of my speed I am good at dodging.
6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I like to keep active and sport is fun.
7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Shaquille O’Neal.
8. Why are they your favourite? Shaq is my favourite player because he was a great basketball player and he was great at dunking the basketball.
9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is NBA team, Los Angeles Lakers.
10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am fun to be around, show good sportmanship and that I am funny.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Dance is my favourite sport because I get to learn new dances and new movements.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I was in a dance concert and I didn’t make any mistakes.
5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in basketball is my dribbling skills.
6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is fun and I get to play with my friends.
7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Dusty Martin from Richmond Tigers.
8. Why are they your favourite? Dusty is my favourite player because he is good at kicking goals.
