 Collaborative Planning

We are implementing Version 9 English of the Australian National Curriculum this year.  As this is a new curriculum, all English teaching programs and assessment items are being rewritten and our teaching team are engaging in ongoing professional development to support their expertise.

Throughout the implementation of Version 9 curriculum over the next few years, our collaborative processes remain critical to ensure the consistency and quality of planning, teaching and assessment across year levels.  Collaborative planning occurs towards the end of each term and involves teaching teams working with Curriculum Leaders and our Deputy Principal Teaching, Learning and Curriculum to coordinate the educational programs and assessment for the next term.

When teaching teams are released, the educational program of our students continues ensuring that their learning and engagement is maintained.

Spellathon

Our Spellathon is our annual fundraiser to support our Chaplaincy program and this year it raised $6100.  A big thank you to our P&C and school community for their ongoing support of this valuable initiative!

Our Chaplain is a friendly face and ear for our students, staff and community and her programs and activities form part of our approach to wellbeing.

Congratulations to:

  •  all students who participated and tried their best.
  • 1/2 Orange for being the class that raised the most.
  • Prep Red for being the class with the highest participation rate.

Fanfare

Well done to our students who participated in the recent QLD Fanfare Competitions for representing our school well.  More information is in Music News.

Disco

Our school disco is next Friday 14 June.  Details of this event have been communicated on ClassDojo for parents and carers and the last day to buy tickets is tomorrow (7 June 2024).  There are no tickets for sale on the night, so pre-purchase is essential.

A huge thank you to our P&C for coordinating this event and Team Tally (staff) who volunteer their personal time to supervise the awesome dancing!

Being a community-minded school and P&C, our disco will be accompanied by a picnic with music and a sausage sizzle for parents and carers.  This is the same format as last year and it provided a really lovely time for the adults to spend together.

Report Cards

Report cards will be emailed to parents and carers on Wednesday, 19 June and will provide an update of each student’s level of achievement, effort and behaviour.  Parents and carers will be invited to attend progress interviews with teachers early next term.

GRIP Leadership Conference

Our Year 6 Student Leaders attended the Grip Leadership Conference on 30/05/24 where they had the opportunity to participate in a day of learning about leadership, alongside children from other schools.  We commend our student leaders on their exemplary behaviour throughout the event and look forward to seeing them continue to flourish with the responsibilities of their roles.
