ADAM BLACKMORE

It's the end of another week and looks like more rain is on the way which will certainly help to alleviate some of the concerns around the Farm.

I continue to visit various areas around the site as I become more familiar with the vast paddocks that are part of the College. I have visited Dairy, Beef, Sheep, Equine, Horticulture and Poultry, as well as looking at the facilities that we have available for Aquaculture and Pigs and the Butchershop. Thanks to all the staff who have given me an insight into the activities that engage our students in all these areas.

DFES Visit

We had four members of DFES visit the College this week to view the campus and ensure we are bushfire ready for next season and to discuss any areas of concern prior to the next fire season. Happy to say they were impressed with the safe and secure area we have and only recommended a couple of things for us to update over winter.

Sowing the Seed of Innovation

As part of our planning for Term 3 and beyond we are still seeking input from staff, parents and students about innovative or technological advancements which could be used within the College programs in the coming years.

The QR code on the right can be scanned by any mobile device and will allow you to easily provide your thoughts and ideas about what you would like to see the College introduce in the future.

The below link can also be used to access the Parent Input

As we continue to move through the term I am hoping to visit more classrooms to see the activities in and around the Trades area and meet more students who attend here. It is certainly a wonderful institution of learning and this is reflected in the number of interviews we continue to hold for prospective students.
