Captivating Artistry, Brilliant Artists!
Prep TW: Visual Arts Semester 1: Term 2, W07, 2024
Preps explored and refined printing techniques by creating bubble prints and enhancing them with geometric stamp prints. Students effectively created vibrant and consistent bubble prints by skillfully using the bubble solution and blowing technique. They enhanced their bubble prints by adding clear and well-defined geometric stamp designs. They successfully combined both techniques to produce cohesive and visually appealing artwork. Additionally, they reflected on and explained their creative process and artistic choices in detail. Awesome Bubble Prints!!!!

Year 2 students have started to explore and refine their artistic skills by creating a real or imaginary ‘cheeky animal’ inspired by the Tjanpi Desert Weavers from remote central Australian communities. They used a collection of yarn and raffia, wrapped a chenille stem around the head, and twisted it to secure it. They tied pieces of wool, string, or raffia together to make one long thread, then tied one end of the long thread onto their animal and continuously wrapped it around the body. They look forward to continuing to make their creatures.

Year 4 students just started creating their own woven baskets, inspired by the artist Tammy Kanat. They began employing the in-and-out technique for weaving and selecting either warm colours, cool colours, or complementary colours for their designs. They started to concentrate on their weaving technique, visual perception, and craftsmanship throughout the project.
