m 4 Welcome back to term 4!!
Amazing to see most students in hats and look forward to a fun and exciting last term.
Literacy:
Numeracy:
- Fractions Fun: We’ve been learning about halves, quarters, and eighths by sharing food, folding paper, and cutting shapes into equal parts.
- Mass and Capacity: Students are exploring how heavy things are and how much they can hold—using scales, measuring cups, and water play to compare and measure.
- Location and Direction: We’ve been learning to give and follow directions using words like left, right, above, and below. Students have enjoyed using maps and playing treasure hunt games!
Inquiry:
- Discovering Roxburgh Park: Students have been learning about the history of Roxburgh Park and how the area has changed over time.
- Local Walks: We’ve enjoyed fun walks around our neighbourhood, spotting parks, shops, and special places in our community.
- Community Helpers: Students are learning about the important jobs of people who help us—like firefighters, police officers, doctors, and teachers.
- Landmarks in Melbourne: We’ve been looking at famous places in Melbourne, such as Federation Square, the Werribee Zoo, Fairy gardens, and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
- Creative Projects: Our learning includes drawing maps, making posters, and sharing stories about places we know and love.
