Wellbeing

Term 4

Building Healthy Friendships & Respectful Relationships

At Mullum, we know that wellbeing isn’t just about healthy habits, it’s also about the way we treat one another. Through our URStrong Friendology and Respectful Relationships programs, students are learning how to build positive connections and handle challenges with kindness and confidence.

URStrong Friendology

Friendology teaches children what healthy friendships look and feel like. Students explore how to:

  • Recognise when a friendship feels balanced and respectful
  • Manage “friendship fires” (normal ups and downs)
  • Communicate kindly and assertively

At home, try asking:

“Who made you feel included today?” or “Did you help someone feel like they belonged?”

These small chats help reinforce the language and skills we use at school.

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships

This program helps students understand empathy, inclusion, and fairness — key parts of creating a safe, respectful community. We talk about:

  • Respecting differences

  • Managing emotions and conflict calmly

  • Showing care and kindness in everyday interactions

Together, these programs give students the tools to build strong, supportive friendships, and to treat themselves and others with respect.

“Wellbeing grows through connection; every kind word and action helps our community thrive.”

If you feel the need to chat at any stage, please reach out.  My working days are Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.
