AROUND THE SCHOOL

District Cricket
District Cricket was a great success! Many of our students, including those new to competitive cricket, embraced the challenge and gave it their best effort. The teams showed wonderful encouragement toward one another and their opponents, demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.
There were plenty of smiles and laughter amongst the girls team as they played with enthusiasm and determination. The girls team won all their matches and narrowly missed out on a win in the grand final.
The boys’ A team also had an outstanding day, winning all their matches convincingly and taking out the grand final title. Finishing in the top three means these two teams now progress to the Division level — an exciting opportunity to represent our school once again! A huge congratulations to all our players on their effort, teamwork, and school pride!
AWARDS
By: Leo and team
On Friday the 10th of October, Leo, Ryder, Aiden C, Sam, Kade and Benji went to Wonthaggi to compete in the division basketball competition.
In our first game we beat Foster by about 20 points and everyone played amazing. We played Cowes Primary School in the next match to decide which of us went through to regionals. We started off slow in the first half, with CPS having a ten point lead at half time. We started the second half awesomely scoring the first 6 points. CPS gained back the momentum and got up by ten points. After a time out, we came back onto the court with 3 minutes left and got within 2 points, but time wasn't on our side and they ended up with a 4 point win.
It was a really fun time and thanks to MATT for coaching, Ms ROBERTS for team managing and KIM for driving us there.
Division Athletics
The Division Athletics event took place at the end of Term 3. We faced strong competition, and our students gave their absolute best. Congratulations to the following students who have qualified to represent our school at Regional Athletics on Wednesday 15th October at Newborough. We wish you all the best for a successful and enjoyable day of competition.
