Year 8 Camp

Year 8 Camp at Camp Summit – Gippsland Adventure!
In Week 1of this term, our Year 8 students embarked on an exciting three-day camp at
Camp Summit in Gippsland, where they challenged themselves, built teamwork skills, and hopefully gained experiences they will cherish into the future.
Throughout the week, students took part in a range of adventure-based activities including orienteering, abseiling, the giant swing, the Snowy River Challenge, the high wire, caving, and the thrilling leap of faith.
Each activity encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones and apply the goal-
setting model: Target, Stretch, Super Stretch, helping them recognise their personal limits and how to push beyond them.
One of the most talked-about highlights of the camp was the Mud Run, where students enthusiastically took part. Laughter, teamwork, and a healthy dose of mud made it a standout experience for all!
Evenings were just as enjoyable, with students showing off their knowledge and teamwork in the night trivia challenge, followed by a relaxed movie night to wind down after action-packed days.
The camp was a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with one another, challenge themselves, and return home with a
stronger sense of confidence, resilience, and camaraderie. All NHS staff who attended were proud of how well our students participated in all the activities at Camp Summit – Well done year 8’s.
