Sports Report

Regional Table Tennis
The boys and girls made there way to Regional Table Tennis at Coburg Table Tennis Club, wary of the imminent hot weather. Though it was hot, NHS had one goal in mind. To bring home the win. For the boys it was to make it back to back state appearances. For the girls it was redemption, as they had fallen at Regionals last year.
Unfortunately the girls couldn’t bring home the win, missing out on the opportunity for a state appearance.
The boys won all the matches in their division, only dropping a couple of games along the way.
During finals time against Sirius College, the team were able to get enough wins to take us through to State for the second year in a row.
Celebrations begun and we all took a great team photo with the winning flag. The afterparty ensued with the lads going hiking up to Bell Street for some well-deserved KFC.
Everyone had a great time and put in lots of effort! It's just down to the boys to tackle Balwyn High at State and get into the finals.
Yr 9/10 Regional Basketball
On Thursday 16th October, the Northcote Boys/Mixed Year 9&10 Basketball team
travelled to Mill Park Stadium to compete in the Northern Metro Region Basketball Competition.
The team played three pool matches against Sacred Heart, Coburg, and Eltham — all hard-fought contests played at a high standard. With determination and teamwork, Northcote came away with three impressive wins to progress to the grand final.
In the Grand Final against Mernda College, the match proved to be an intense, physical battle, with Northcote narrowly securing victory to claim the regional title. Wim Lobb, Nicco Biancalani, and Charlie Stoilkovski were standout performers across the day, while every team member contributed strongly and represented the school with great spirit and sportsmanship.
Thanks to Lucas Windiate for coaching and good luck to the team when they compete at the State Final on the 17th of November.

Year 9/10 Regional Hockey
On the 16th of October the year 9/10s had regional hockey. They put up a good fight, drawing the first game against St Helena. Our games against Brunswick and Hume AG were both hard fought games, unfortunately losing. Our last game against Diamond Valley went down to the wire, and was a very even game until the last 10 seconds when Diamond Valley snuck through a goal. A big thankyou to Ruby and Maddy for being players and coaches on the day.
State Athletics
Congratulations to Wolfgang Curry who qualified in 5 events for the State Athletics which was held on Monday 20/10. What an amazing acheivement to qualify for so many events at this level. Wolfgang will also have a busy weekend as he will be heading back to Albert Park to compete in All Schools Athletics this weekend. We wish him well.
