Harmony Week Celebration with Our Buddy Class

JSB is delighted to have SSH as our buddy class this year. As part of our horticulture program, SSH students regularly spend time in the garden, and our JSB students enjoy visiting the garden space and observing the chickens.

On Monday, SSH teachers and students organised a wonderful Harmony Week celebration for JSB students. One of the key activities was a coloured sand art experience, where junior students filled their jars with different layers of coloured sand. This activity represented that we are all different, but we belong together. Just like the colours of the sand gradually blend over time, different cultures also come together and connect when shared in the same space.

To make the day even more special, SSH students set up a hot dog BBQ, and everyone enjoyed a classic Australian favourite together. The celebration was filled with smiles and a strong sense of community. The highlight of the day was the visit from two friendly dogs, Summer and Maple, who brought extra joy and excitement to everyone.

It was a meaningful and joyful experience that strengthened connections between our buddy classes and celebrated inclusion and belonging.
