Wellbeing at TPS

Term 1 Wellbeing Celebrations!
Throughout Term 1, we have continued to prioritise student wellbeing and mental health across our school community.
Our teachers and education support staff have been strengthening Tier 1 supports by implementing our new behaviour matrix, refining our Project Time timetable, and adjusting our Reflection process to better align with our school values. Community Circles have also been a highlight, providing students with opportunities to recognise and celebrate their peers for demonstrating these values.
We have seen wonderful engagement in student-led initiatives. Our Wellbeing Leaders have introduced Talk, Plan, Play, supporting positive and inclusive play in the yard. Lunchtime Clubs have been running across the school, offering students a variety of engaging activities, while classroom fruit bowls—supported by Foodbank—have helped promote healthy habits and wellbeing.
Staff have also been actively engaged in professional learning. Rhys Lindsay has been supporting our region by facilitating Mental Health First Aid Training, while Kelsey Whyte and Sam Irwin attended Mental Health in Primary Schools training in Ballarat to further strengthen our whole-school approach to Mental Health.
Looking ahead to Term 2, we will be focusing on building mental health literacy for teachers, students, and families. This will include using tools to observe patterns of behaviour and working in partnership with families to provide targeted and effective support.
We look forward to seeing students and families in Term 2. Take care and have a wonderful break.
