Year 1/2 Report

Term 3, 2024

Welcome back everyone! The students and teachers have all had a great start to the term. This Term is filled with lots of fun activities and events, so be sure to look at the dates down below.

 

Literacy

In literacy students will start the term by engaging with fables and retelling them. As they progress through the term, they will concentrate on summarizing, visualising, inferring and critiquing various texts.  In Writing, the students will work through the process of writing allowing them to write their own fables using the correct structure and language features. During this Term, the students will all continue to work on their goals to improve their reading and writing. 

 

Numeracy

In Maths this Term, the students will learn about multiplication and various strategies to help with problem solving. The students will explore measurement, length, and time in relation to multiplication. This Term will also include 2D and 3D shapes, as well as mass and capacity, using various operations. They will continue to work through challenging tasks and number talks throughout the term.

 

Inquiry

Our topic for Inquiry this term is 'Now and Then'. The students will understand what life was like in the past and the present. We will identify the changes that have occurred over time and make comparisons to life in the past and the present.
