Welcome back to the wonderful third term of Italian. Students will be able to participate in a range of tasks geared at boosting their conversational and written skills in Italian.

 

Prep Students will continue to practice greetings, recognising colours, and memorising animal names. Students will learn how to count to 30 in Italian. Also, Prep students will gain confidence in speaking and listening to Italian via tales, role-plays, and games. Chants and melodies will also assist students improve their spoken pronunciation.

Students in Grades One and Two will be introduced to the new language and cultural features of Italy through various topics. Students will keep practising greetings and colours and how to count to 30 in Italian. Through the story La Gallinella Rossa students will learn the names of domestic and farm animals. Chants, songs, and learning exercises will help students acquire confidence in their oral pronunciation of Italian.

 Students in Grades Three and Four will continue to use greetings, ask and answer questions about themselves and compose short sentences. Students will learn to name members of their family and ways of describing their physical appearance. Chants, songs, and learning activities will assist students improve their oral pronunciation.

Students in Grades Five and Six will continue to exchange greetings, address people, and use appropriate pronunciation. Students have started reading, writing, and counting to sixty. Our emphasis on describing people will help students to better understand how to express their physical appearance. Chants, songs, and games can assist kids gain confidence in verbal communication.
