Principal's Report

Thoughts from our Principal - Mr Geoff McManus

At the time of writing, we are in the throes of our annual St Joseph's Public Speaking Cup competition. As an event with strong foundations in the NSW English curriculum and an essential life skill, public speaking is a high priority at our great school. All of our children have been exposed in one way or another in preparing, rehearsing and presenting a speech to their peers and teachers in the classroom setting. For some, a nervous test “at the next level” in itself to deliver a speech in that group forum. Things certainly ramp up for our finalists when they present in front of the whole school and our families! Congratulations to all involved and a special public thanks to our incredible teachers for their skilful work in leading and supporting our children to be their personal best!

Humble thanks to the local Glen Innes Lions Club for their kind and generous donation of $500 to our school in 2024. This particular group of dedicated and cheerful locals are an inspiration to our children as prime examples of high-quality service work in the community. Our team of skilful helpful adults are forever challenging and reminding our children of the importance of service and care for those less fortunate in our community. The local Lions Club members are relentless and untiring in their service work across several community events in Glen Innes. On behalf of our school, I offer public and heartfelt thanks to this wonderful group of tireless volunteers for their donation but more especially for their example to our young people.

Thank you for another great term working in partnership between families and our team of skilful helpful adults to bring out the best in our beautiful children. Enjoy a relaxing and fun break and hopefully some warmer weather and some rain!

School begins for Term 4 on Tuesday 15 at 9 am.

Until next time.

May God go with you.
