Learning in 3/4H

In English this term, the Year 3/4 students have been reading 'Yirra and her deadly dog, Demon' by Anita Heiss. The book is set in a suburb of Sydney and was written with the assistance of students from La Perouse Public School. It is the story of Yirra who has a dog that is causing problems for everyone! What will Yirra do to solve the problem? You need to read the book to find out.

Let's hear what students from Year 3/4H thought of the book.

In this book we discover that Yirra has a naughty dog called Demon and she needs him to get trained fast or else Yirra's mum will give him away! Luckily Yirra got him trained by Danny the dog trainer. When Demon obeys Danny he gets a biscuit.

The thing that I liked about the book was that she got him trained and she got to keep him. Thank you PFA for buying the books.

There was a girl named Yirra and her dog named Demon. Demon was naughty at first, then he got trained by Danny-the-dog-trainer, Yirra's friend. Yirra's mum said that if he doesn't get trained then he has to go.

One thing I liked about the book is that Yirra doesn't give up on Demon. Thank you to the PFA for the books.

Yirra and her deadly dog, Demon is about a girl called Yirra and she has a dog called Demon. The deadly dog Demon is a nuisance as he chews the neighbour's undies, jumps on people and even eats or hide's Paul's slippers. While Yirra is dealing with Demon, she decides to get him trained.

I liked the boom because Demon was funny all the time. Thank you PFA for the buying the books.

This term the Year 3/4s have been reading Yirra and her deadly dog Demon. The book is about Yirra's mum who is sick of vacuuming up fur balls and her stepdad just wants his slippers back because Demon keeps taking them. If Yirra doesn't find a dog trainer soon, she's have to give Demon to a new family. Luckily Demon gets trained by Danny the dog trainer.

I like this book- 4/5. Thank you PFA for getting the books.

In 3/4H we have been reading Yirra and her deadly dog, Demon. It is a magnificent story about a girl who needed to train her dog. In the story there were multiple characters who had different characteristics.

I loved the story a lot. Thank you teachers for making us read this amazing story.
