Principal's Report

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 students on the success of last week’s Market Stalls, which raised over $1,400 for their chosen charities! We are incredibly proud of your hard work and generosity. For more details, be sure to check out the Year 5/6 page.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our wonderful parent community and the PFA committee for your ongoing fundraising efforts and support. We’re excited to see the new ottomans arriving around the school soon!

We have been advised by the Presentation Order of Sisters that Sister Marie Therese Jones PBVM, who served as our school's second principal from 1960 to 1967, sadly passed away during the week, aged 101 years. From 1960-1975 the Presentation Sisters assumed responsibility for the school. Sister Marie Therese played a significant role in shaping the early years of our school, leading with faith, dedication, and a deep commitment to the Presentation charism. Her legacy continues to be felt in the foundations she helped to establish and the lives she touched during her time here.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Presentation Sisters and all who knew and loved Sister Marie Therese. May she rest in peace.

Allen Street Car Park Access

Due to ongoing construction and demolition work on Allen Street, access to and from the school car park during drop-off and pick-up times may be busier than usual. We kindly ask all drivers to remain patient, respectful, and considerate of increased traffic during these peak periods.

Additionally, please be mindful of families from Glen Allen School who require access to the ramp and designated disabled parking spaces. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Reminder: Early Finishes Next Week

Monash Council Community Plans

Monash Council is currently going out to the community for consultation on two important community plans.

The 10-year Children, Youth, and Family Services Infrastructure Plan: Will guide how we plan for, fund, build, and deliver spaces and services that support families. These include facilities for playgroupskindergartensmaternal and child health, and youth services.

The plan has 2 separate surveys:

  • Parents and the general community.
  • Children and young people (ages 8-25).

Please select the survey relevant to you. If you’re a young parent, we encourage you to complete both.

Complete the survey by Wednesday 30 July 2025, by accessing the link here: Children, youth and family spaces | Shape Monash or via the attached poster.

Creative Programming Review: Council’s vision for arts and culture is to be a city that celebrates and champions creative industries. We invite the community to have their say on Council's existing schedule of creative events, programs and activities to ensure they align with the objectives outlined in Monash Arts and Culture Strategy.

Share your feedback in the survey below by Thursday 31 July via the link here: Creative Programming Review | Shape Monash

With several early finishes scheduled for next week, this will be our final newsletter for

Term 2.

Warm regards,
