A message from the Principal
School Closure Day
A reminder that Tuesday, 17th June is a student-free day. This closure day provides an opportunity for professional development on “Classroom Mastery” as part of the Sandhurst Magnify program for all our Teachers and Education Support Officers. Please mark this date in your calendars.
Division Soccer
We had 14 students from Year 4 to Year 6 represent St. Peter's at the Divisional Soccer Tournament last Friday. The team was eager to compete, especially after experiencing some success last year. The team played 6 games and came away with 2 wins, 2 draws, and 2 narrow losses. Congratulations to all involved—your efforts and the way you represented our school were fantastic, and you should all be proud of your performance!
AFLW Essendon Players Visit
Today, we were fortunate to have a visit from some AFLW players from the Essendon Football Club. The players arrived at 11:00 am and stayed until 11:45 am. Our Year 5/6 students had the exciting opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with the athletes, learning about their training routines, match days, and more. The students asked insightful questions, covering topics from diet to training. After the session, the students were able to go out to the yard with the players for a fun and interactive time at the start of break time.
Dental Van Visit in Week 10
Martin Vale Dentistry will be visiting our school again next week with their mobile van from Monday, 23rd June to Thursday, 26th June. Please refer to the attached form for more information. If you have any questions or would like your child to receive treatment, please contact the school or fill out the form.
Student Expo – Friday 27th June
We are excited to invite all families to our Student Expo on Friday, 27th June. Parents are warmly invited to visit the classrooms between 2:20 pm and 2:45 pm to see the wonderful learning that has taken place throughout Term 3.
At 2:45 pm, we will come together as a community to acknowledge, farewell, and celebrate the remarkable leadership of Jennifer Roberts as Co-Principal for the last 8 years. This is a significant moment for our school, and we hope you can join us to honour Jennifer’s incredible contributions.
Please be sure to mark this important date on your calendar. We look forward to celebrating with you all!
St Peter’s Feast Day Mass & Baptism
We will celebrate St Peter’s Feast Day Mass on the last day of term 2, Friday, 4th July. All families are warmly invited to join us for Mass at St Kilian’s Church, followed by a morning tea back at school. If you would like your child to be Baptised at our St Peter's Feast Day mass please let Jake Wilkinson or the front office know by Wednesday 18th of June.
A Moment in Prayer
Loving God,
As we move through this week, help us to walk in faith, guided by Your love and grace.
May we open our hearts to Your teachings, and strive to live with kindness, compassion, and humility.
Bless our community, our families, and all who need Your comfort and care.
We ask this in Your name.
Amen.
God Bless,
Jeremy Darmody
Principal
