Vehicle Access to the College

To ensure the safety of all students during set-down and pick-up times, we kindly ask parents to remain patient and use the designated zones.

Parking in bus zones during peak times - 8:00am to 8:30am and 3:10pm to 3:45pm - is creating congestion and safety risks. We urge parents to avoid these areas to allow buses to operate smoothly and ensure student safety.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in keeping our school environment safe and efficient.

Premiership Saturday: A Showcase of College Spirit

This weekend promises to be a thrilling chapter in our sporting history as our 1st XI and 1st XV take the field against Padua College in their respective premiership competitions. Months of hard work, dedication and determination culminate in these final matches, where our teams will represent us proudly and leave nothing behind as they aim to finish the season on top.

The excitement has been building throughout the week, with senior students rallying support across the College. With the assistance of Mr Ruh and the student administration team, they have ensured a strong presence of supporters at Padua Sporting Fields, Banyo. Buses have been arranged, with details shared among students and families to encourage as many as possible to attend and back our teams.

The 1st XI will take to the pitch at 11:30am, showcasing the skill and teamwork that have defined their season. Later in the afternoon, at 3:15pm, the 1st XV will step onto the field, determined to uphold the College’s proud rugby tradition.

These premiership matches aren’t just about competition—they’re a celebration of school pride, unity and sportsmanship. The energy and encouragement from our supporters will be invaluable, demonstrating the strength of our community both on and off the field.

We encourage all students, families and staff to join in the excitement and stand behind our teams. Your presence makes a difference, lifting the players to new heights as they battle for the premiership titles.

Let’s come together and make this a day to remember—Go Marist!

End of Semester 2 Assessments: A Time to Showcase Hard Work

As we approach the final weeks of Semester 2, students across Years 5 to 10 will soon complete their end-of-semester assessments. These assessments are not just tests of knowledge but an opportunity for students to demonstrate the dedication and effort they have put into their studies throughout the term.

By this stage, much of the groundwork has already been laid—lessons have been learned, concepts reinforced and skills refined. Now, it’s about adding the finishing touches to their preparation, ensuring they enter their assessments with confidence and clarity.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of revision materials, seek support from their teachers and maintain a balanced approach to study. A structured plan, regular review and a healthy mindset will set the stage for success.

Families also play a crucial role in this period, offering encouragement and helping students manage their time effectively. A supportive home environment, combined with steady preparation, makes a significant difference in achieving positive outcomes.

As assessments draw near, we remind students that their hard work will pay off. Stay focused, trust the preparation that has gone into this semester, and approach each task with a positive and determined mindset.

Best wishes to all students as they complete their assessments.

Walkathon: Advance Notice - Term 3

This year’s Walkathon is scheduled for Sunday 10 August 2025 and is a proud long-standing Marist tradition which continues to be our largest Marist Family event of the year. Proudly partnering with our neighbours, the Australian Defence Force and Gallipoli Barracks.

In keeping with College tradition, the Walkathon is set to raise funds for the Marist College Ashgrove Parents and Friends Association who will use the funds to support the College to enhance facilities and improve the educational journey for all Marist College Ashgrove students now and into the future. In recent years funds have contributed to upgrades to the Flats fields, fans in the Champagnat Centre mezzanine, the purchase of the College Coffee Van, upgrades to the Music Centre, and upgrades to playground basketball facilities and upcoming upgrade to Cameron Oval change rooms. This year, we are excited to announce that funds raised from this year’s Walkathon will go towards shade and seating areas for students and spectators.

Fundraising will be achieved through community sponsorship of students participation in the Walkathon. Students are encouraged to collect sponsorship to walk on the day through a cashless donation system where parents, family and friends can donate online. Further information regarding how to donate will be communicated in the coming weeks.

Student participation on Sunday 10 August 2025 is compulsory. All students will be required to walk the 10km course however if a student cannot complete the course due to medical or mobility reasons and they wish to participate, they are able to complete the newly implemented 4km All Abilities Course. If for any reason your son cannot attend, please ensure that you communicate this with his Head of House or the Year 5-6 Pastoral Leader prior to the event. Any student unable to walk on the day will be expected to complete the Make-Up Walkathon on Tuesday afternoon, 12 August.

As in past years, family members are invited to join in the walking. This year we are excited to be able to offer an All-Abilities route through the Barracks. If you or members of your family would like to join either the full walk (10km) or the All-Abilities Walk (4km), please register here before 9:00am Friday 8 August.

Parent and guardian help is very important in running the Walkathon and any assistance you can provide on the day will be greatly appreciated. Please register here before 9am Friday 8 August.

Thanking you in anticipation of your valued support of the tradition of the Marist College Ashgrove Walkathon. We look forward to a fun-filled day for our students and family members.
