Heads of Secondary Years' Report

To our wonderful Hazel Glen community,
We hope that all of the Dad's had a wonderful Fathers Day last Sunday. A huge shout out to our amazing Canteen and Education Support Staff who organised and assisted with our Father's Day Breakfast on Tuesday 2nd of September.
It was so wonderful to see so many parents join their children to celebrate with us. As a College, we really value these opportunities to build connections with our parent community.
On Monday 8th September, we had our second whole Secondary Years Assembly for Term 3, focused around R U OK? Day. The official R U OK? Day was Thursday the 11th September and we acknowledged this initiative with a range of activities across the College. R U OK? is a national public health promotion initiative that encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times.
We have all appreciated the opportunity to provide updates and share information about your child's learning today, during our Parent-Teacher Interviews. We hope that you and your children found these conferences useful and that you can use the advice provided to set your child up for a successful Term 4.
As we look forward to the last week of term, things are certainly not slowing down. Our Year 9 students will be attending camp in Anglesea, Year 11 Biology students are heading to the Zoo for an excursion and Friday is Footy Day at the College.
Our Year 12 VCE students are busy finishing up the last of their School-Based Assessments and will be in full exam revision mode over the holidays. Please check Compass posts for details of all of the revision events over the break.
When we return next term, there are a few key events in week 2, including the Colour Run, Year 12 Final Day and College Pyjama Day and don't forget to put the 6th November in your diary for our annual Art and Technology Evening.
We hope that you have a safe and restful holiday and we look forward to seeing you in term 4!
