Three instrumental music teachers from BSE came to visit our Grade 6 students last week to give them a taste of some of the different instruments they can learn in high school. They performed a couple of songs and the students got a chance to try out a few different instruments.
On Thursday, we finally got to witness the long awaited debut of Harry Potter as performed by Grade 5/6 students from Spring Gully. Hannah Jones (Grade 5) took on the massive undertaking or rewriting, casting and directing a performance of Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone. Under Hannah's directorial eye, students have been practising at recess this semester and have done an outstanding job. Great work everyone!
They will perform again on Monday for the Grade 3/4s.
If any parents are interested in watching their child's performance, a video was made and will be made available soon.
Our Grade 6 Graduation is rapidly approaching. Students will return to school at 5.30pm for dinner before their graduation ceremony. Parents and other special guests are asked to arrive after 7pm for a 7.30pm start time. The ceremony will be held in the Hub at school on Wednesday 18th of December. We ask that no students be at school before 5pm. Students will enter the Grade 5/6 building through Mrs Byron's classroom.
The Grade 6 students are working on writing speeches for the evening and have been enjoying reliving memories from the last 7 years of their schooling. We are also excited to begin working on a musical performance for the evening with an enthusiastic band of instrumental performers and singers. Lyrics are available for students to access in our Google Classroom, so that they can practise at home too.
