Year 6 Graduation & Farewell
Presented below is the farewell speech that was delivered by Mrs Phillips at the Graduation Dinner.
Good evening, students, parents, and staff,
What a special evening this is! Tonight, we’re celebrating our amazing Year 6 graduates, and I couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve achieved. Over the years, I’ve seen you grow—not just in your learning, but as people. You’ve supported each other, taken on challenges, and shown what resilience and teamwork look like.
There have been so many memorable moments along the way. Our trip to Canberra was a standout—It was wonderful to get to know you better outside of the classroom, seeing new sides of your personalities and how you interacted with each other in different settings. And of course, who could forget this year’s Peter Pan performance? It was a true showcase of your talent, teamwork, and ability to step up and make something wonderful together.
Josh, your quick wit and sense of humour have kept things lively. Seeing you on stage this year was a joy—you’ve got a lot of talent, even if you’re not ready to admit it just yet!
Christina, your kindness and quiet confidence have shone through all year. It’s been wonderful watching you grow and find your voice—you’re ready for whatever comes next.
Parker, you’ve come so far this year. You should be proud of the way you’ve grown academically and socially. I certainly am!
Courtney, you’re the first to question my ideas, but you always follow through and complete every task. You’ve grown so much in confidence this year, and your Peter Pan performance truly showed that.
Felix, your hard work and determination have stood out, but this year, so has your great sense of humour. It has been great the see this side of you.
To all of you, Year 6, you’ve worked hard, supported each other, and shown you’re ready for the next big step. High school will bring plenty of new adventures, and I hope you take it all on with the same curiosity and determination you’ve shown here at St. Joseph’s.
To the parents and families, thank you for your support over the years. You’ve been such an important part of this journey, and tonight is a celebration of all your efforts too.
Congratulations, Year 6! You’re ready to take on the world, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll do. Remember, no matter where life takes you, you’ll always have your St. Joseph’s community cheering you on.
Thank you.
