Year Reflections: What a Fantastic First Year!
Wow, can you believe the year is almost over? It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming our Foundation students to their very first day of school! It has been an incredible journey, and we are so proud of all the amazing progress each of our students has made.
This year, our Foundation students have achieved so much, and we are excited to share just a few highlights:
Exploring Our Church and Community
We began the year by learning about Our Church and Our Community. The students developed a sense of belonging and learned about the different groups and places that are important in their lives. This helped them understand how we all work together to make our community a wonderful place to be!
Learning Letters and Sounds
In English, we delved into the world of letters and sounds. Students learned that when we put sounds together, we can form words! They also practiced breaking words into their individual sounds to help with spelling. It’s amazing to see how much their reading and writing have improved.
Mathematics Adventures
In numeracy, our Foundation students have explored numbers from 0 to 20. They’ve explored addition and subtraction and have had lots of fun learning how to share equally. We also explored measurement, learning how to tell if an object is longer/shorter or heavier/lighter.
The students were even able to answer simple yes/no questions and use this information to create graphs, turning data into meaningful information. This has been such a practical and exciting way for our students to engage with maths!
Celebrating 100 Days of School
We couldn’t let the year end without remembering our 100th Day of School Celebration! It was a day of fun and learning, with lots of exciting activities focused on the number 100. Our Foundation students loved celebrating how much they’ve grown and achieved in just 100 days.
A Well-Earned Rest
It’s no wonder our Foundation students are feeling tired after such a big year! We are so proud of everything they have accomplished and how much they have grown, not only academically but also in their confidence and independence.
As we approach the end of the year, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for our Foundation students. They are ready to take on Year 1 with all the skills they’ve developed and the curiosity they’ve fostered!
Can you believe this is our final newsletter for the year, it has gone so fast!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the constant support you have given to us and most importantly to your children throughout the year. We have had a fantastic time in the 1/2 room this year.
We wish our beautiful grade two children all the best as they move into grade three, although we will miss their smiling faces each day. We look forward to watching our grade two children in 2025 grow and develop further. We are so lucky to keep them for another year.
Wishing you all a very safe and happy Christmas and great times in the new year.
See you all in 2025!

Thank you for making my first year at Our Lady's such a warm and welcoming experience. Every single student in our class should be so proud of their achievements and growth, academically, socially and emotionally this year. Through the highs and the lows, we have found success and gratitude towards each other, and we feel fortunate to have been a part of their learning journey.
A big Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from everyone in 2/3 Sinclair!
Well…the last newsletter of the year. The closing of one door and the opening of another.
We want to thank each child for all the warmth, memories and the learning that we have shared this year.
To our students we say ‘Thank you’, for when we teach, we also learn. This past year we have grown together.
To our parents and carers, thank you for preparing your child so well each day for school and for supporting us in all we do. It is much appreciated.
We wish you all a blessed Christmas with family and friends.
We wish you a happy holiday and a great New Year.
Our last newsletter for 2024 and what a year we have had! We have enjoyed so many new and exciting experiences together and made many lifelong friends along the way.
We have had many highlights, our camp to Borambola, Sandhurst Arts on Show, Drumming, Performances at WPAC and many more. However, it is the time of year again where we wish farewell to our superb Year Six pupils. They have been a credit to the school and have risen to the challenge of leading and setting a good example for the rest of the school.
Finally, we wish each and every one of you a very happy and Holy Christmas, we hope you all get the chance to spend time with family and friends and create some amazing memories.
Merry Christmas from all of us in 5/6 Griffin.

It has been wonderful to see the amazing growth of these students as the year has progressed and their dedication to their learning journey. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and relaxing summer break from everyone in 5/6H.
