Summer Holidays in Melbourne

Melbourne has plenty on offer for children in

the areas of Visual and Performing Arts. Below are the links to some main events, however please check locally, as many amazing art classes are offered during the holiday break for children.

NGV Kids on Tour 2025 https://www.ngv.vic.gov.au/kids-on-tour/

Make and create when NGV Kids on Tour comes to you these school holidays. From cat and dog ears you can wear, to flower pompoms and paper moths – there’s art to make for every age.

Through free workshops and activities, NGV Kids on Tour aims to share the joys of art-making with children and families across Victoria by partnering with community-minded venues and organisations over the summer holiday period. Program attendees can enjoy a range of activities developed by the NGV in collaboration with inspiring artists and designers from around the world, which provide the opportunity to spark creative thinking and self-expression.

Arts Centre Melbourne

Magical and meaningful, IMAGINE LIVE is a celebration of creativity, friendship and our precious natural world. With the help of the audience, performers play and sing their way through the iconic pages of Imagine and quickly discover there is WAY more to these pages than first meets the eye. Spot a leopard, dive with a dolphin or dig up a dinosaur as the pages of the book spring to life before your eyes.

Art Smocks

Art smocks will go home for washing and need to be returned during the first week back next year please.

Thank you

Thank you to the school community for the continued support of the Arts programs this year at St Pat’s. Next year promises to be another colourful and busy year in the Art room with a few new ideas and initiatives being planned that I am excited to try with the kids.

Donations

If you are feeling inspired over the summer break, I would love to start a collection of shells for a sensory area in the art room. If you find any during your summer adventures, please collect and send them along when the new school year resumes.

Have a safe and lovely summer break!
