IB Learner Profile Attributes
Find out more about what it means to be a learner in an IB World School...
This week, our Education Support (Classroom) Team share with us how they represent the learner profile attribute Principled.
Team definition:
Being principled means embracing diversity with compassion, supporting others, and striving to provide a safe and inclusive environment. It’s about encouraging all learners, respecting their unique journeys, and celebrating different learning styles to ensure everyone feels valued and empowered.
Individually, we are principled because:
Sam Cook: As an ES, I love creating a safe and supportive environment where I can help students achieve regardless of any challenges. I thrive on building skills, resilience and confidence in students making everybody feel heard and included. Education Support is about celebrating progress and encouraging students to be the best they can be in a welcoming environment for all.

I am principled in ENPS and in my touch football sporting community. I make sure to understand the values and mission of each of these communities to align my vision and actions with the team. I love supporting my team mates, learners and team members and reminding each other of our values which are at the heart of our community.

These values are a part of who I am and influence how I navigate my day-to-day life.
Eliza Pitman:
Being principled is all about leading by example for the kids we work with, helping them see their strengths, and encouraging them to spread those values to others. I really value respect and try to show it to everyone in the community. In my personal life, I care for other kids too, teaching them the importance of being principled while also being understanding and empathetic towards how others feel and think.
