School Council

This is School Council parent member Jodie Elliott here, coming to you from the ENPS newsletter and the lucky last to make an entry into the School Council section. Well, this is it folks - the last newsletter of the year! We’ve made it this far and there’s only a matter of days until the end of school. There’s plenty to reflect on and so much to be proud of. Let’s get into it…

Movie Night

Our last community event of the year was Movie Night and what an absolute blast! It was our biggest one yet with so many awesome people turning up to have fun and enjoy the night. Whether you only stayed for a couple of hours or endured the length of the whole night, it was brilliant to see so many families turn up with their blankets and chairs and enjoy the night.

Next year, we want to make Movie Night even bigger and better, which means we need more parents to volunteer a helping hand. Keep an eye out in the new year for information going out to parents and carers via Compass, we’ll be getting organised early next year with requests for more volunteers to help.

Gordon’s Crossing - McCulloch Street

Has anyone noticed the magnificent and marvellous plaque on the crossing post at the McCulloch Street crossing? It has now been officially named “Gordon’s Crossing”. What a brilliant way to end off the year. And, with a wonderful handover to our new crossing guard, Gerard. There’s definitely something in the water with the greatness of our “G” crossing Guards! Don’t forget to give Gerard a high five as you walk past and make him feel welcomed into the ENPS family… he likes to have a little laugh with some banter here and there, so say hi to him and maybe crack a few jokes with him too.

Apple Tree Walkway - 2025

Over the summer school holidays School Council will be organising the painting of the brick wall along the apple tree walkway. The wall will be washed and tidied up with base coats of paint applied and artwork painted around the sides, all in time for the start of school in 2025. Students will then be able to participate in a whole school artwork piece by putting their own individual handprint on the wall in their own house team colour. We can’t wait to see this all come together.

Final School Assembly

If you have never attended a school assembly before and keep meaning too, then this is the one to be at. The last school assembly of the year is a big one and so emotional too. We get to farewell our Year Sixes as they embark on a new life into high school, there are wonderful reflections announced, teachers to welcome and farewell and a great moment to be a part of to say a final goodbye.

The last school assembly will be held in the morning as the day is a short one and school finishes early. After drop-off, on the last day of school, if you can stay and be a part of assembly, do it, it’s a great way to end the year.

Final school assembly: Friday 20th December at 8:55am.

Joining School Council in 2025

Have you considered joining the ENPS School Council in 2025? Your chance to do so is coming up. In the new year information will be going out via Compass on how you can join the school and be a part of a wonderful group of people. You’ll get to understand what goes into organising this great school and how decisions are made. You will learn more about the roles of each staff member and how the school maintains its high level of education - and what’s even better, is that you get to be a part of that. Keep an eye out for this information going out to all parents and carers in the new year.

Congratulations to everyone for making it through the year and especially to our 2024 Foundation families - you made it through your first year of school!

Stay safe over the holidays everyone and we’ll see you all back at school in January 2025.
