Mandarin

大家好!

Hello Everyone,

Congratulations on making it to the end of Term Four and 2024. 潘老师 and 王老师 have had a great time exploring your units of inquiry in Chinese and are looking forward to seeing how we can progress Mandarin in 2025.

Everyone has done a great job in engaging with their language learning and bringing energy to each and every week. We have been particularly impressed with how you have participated in word study and added to your vocabulary and been so willing to use your classroom knowledge when we have been linking with classrooms.

All year levels have linked with their classroom Central Ideas and have also done some cultural exploration of well known festivals.

Foundations this year have looked at the Senses, Animals and living things, Numbers and Chinese Culture and did a great job of showing off their performances at assembly two weeks ago.

Year Ones have inquired into Colours, Weather, Numbers, Minibeasts, Food and Emotions.

Year Twos have looked at Transport, Water, Places and People, Directions, Emotions and Shadow Puppets.

Year Threes have inquired about Places, Earth's features, Explorers, Recycling in China and Chinese celebrations and commemorations.

Year Fours have inquired into hobbies and interests. They have had their first Chinese conversation! They did a fantastic job playing think tac toe using their Chinese knowledge.

Year Fives have inquired about jobs. They learned how to talk about their aspirations. They have created their bilingual cv. They also had a taste of playing hacky sack at the end of the term.

Year Sixes have had a busy year looking at Ancient and Current Government Systems,  Consumerism through planning a China Trip, Chinese migration in Australia, Traditional Medicines of the world and creating Learner Profiles in Mandarin.

We have really loved linking with all units this year and developing your language skills and we can’t wait to see where 2025 takes Mandarin.

谢谢,

潘老师和王老师
