During Term 4, the three-year old children in the Banksia program have demonstrated their shared interest in gardening by continuously working together to care for the community vegetable garden and plants within the outdoor kindergarten environment. The children's shared interest in the caring for the environment continued to blossom which sparked our sustainability journey!
This week, the Banksia children used recycled soda bottles to plant succulents from our kinder garden. The children then had the opportunity to install their succulents as vertical planters in the outside environment. Our recycling practices are nurturing the children’s sense of agency and respect for the environment, while fostering a sense of belonging and shared responsibility in our kindergarten community. Through these meaningful, hands-on activities, the children are developing lifelong habits that will positively impact their world!
We are excited to announce that we will have a local matters token jar at Grill'd in Doncaster, located in the Westfield shopping centre. Visit Grill'd at Doncaster to get a token to place in one of the jars. If our jar is filled before the other 2 jars, we win a grant for new kindergarten resources!
We appreciate all the support from our kindergarten community!
We would love to invite you to tour our kindergarten. For tours, please contact Jemma (kindergarten director) on 98971265 or register here (via our website).
