Welcome to 2025
A very warm welcome to you. I hope that you and your family have enjoyed a relaxing and blessed Christmas and New Year break.
I am filled with excitement as I look at the year ahead. Not only do we look forward to welcoming back our families, but we welcome many new families into our school community.
I am sure you will quickly feel welcomed and connected to the community!
Please find below a few helpful pieces of information, as we begin our new school year.
Meet the Teacher Evening
Thursday 30 January
5.30pm – 8.00pm
We will be offering sessions for all ELC – Year 6 families tonight. You are invited to come and meet your child/ren's class teacher and connect with other families. A separate email has been sent that provides further details regarding session times.
To maximise the time spent with your child's teacher and classroom, an email has been sent containing a link to the Year Level Parent Information Handbook. I encourage you to have a look at it prior to the evening.
Brooklyn Park Welcome Picnic
Tuesday 11 February, 5.30pm - 7pm
You're invited to our Brooklyn Park Welcome Picnic!
Gather at school for this early-evening event, which will be a wonderful opportunity for families to come and connect with each other at the beginning of the year.
An official invite with full details will be sent out in the coming week.
Student Drop-Off/Pick Up
This year, our play yard will now be open for student arrival from 8am. A teacher will be on Yard Duty from 8am - 8.35am, providing supervision for those students arriving to school prior to the bell. Please be reminded that arrival prior to 8am is not permitted.
Teacher supervision of the Lipsett Terrace Drop Off Zone will still remain between 8.15am – 8.35am.
After school, a teacher will be on yard duty until 3.30pm, providing supervision to students awaiting collection. Please assist staff by ensuring that children who are not attending OSHC are collected by 3.30pm.
May I kindly remind you that if using the rear carpark, we ask you to park the car correctly before permitting your children to exit the car. Please do not stop next to the fence or in the roadway or driveway. The safety of our children is paramount, and your support in ensuring this is greatly appreciated.
College Uniform
Please take a moment to refer to the college uniform details before purchasing shoes, getting a haircut, etc. Our students are representatives of our College, and hence, it is important that they adhere at all times to the College Uniform Policy.
The College expectations are:
- Parents will ensure that students are well presented by providing the correct uniform items and ensuring that students wear the correct uniform every day.
- The full uniform will be worn to and from school, and it will be clean, neatly worn and in good repair.
- Students will take pride in their appearance and maintain high standards of personal grooming.
- Uniform items will be clearly named, and students will always be responsible for their belongings.
We greatly appreciate your support in ensuring that the uniform is worn correctly and that hairstyles and jewellery comply with the College requirements. Please refer to the Uniform page on the College website for details.
Change to Year 1-2 Swimming Dates
In previous years, our Year 1-2 children attended Water Safety Week during Term 1, at the same time as our Year 3-6 children. This year, the Year 1-2 children will now attend Water Safety Week during Term 3, at the same time as the Foundation classes.
Their swimming lessons will be held at the Marion Indoor Aquatic Centre. You will receive further information, including specific dates and details, later in the year.
Parent Connect
Parent Connect for Term 1 will start in Week 2.
You're invited to connect with other parents and caregivers over delicious hot and cold drinks in front of Adelaide West Uniting Church. We'll have a coffee van out front from 8.20am to 9am on the below dates, prior to our Junior School Assembly.

First Day of School
Our campuses were alive with the sound of new and existing students descending upon the school on their first day back!
A day full of firsts, it was wonderful to see our Foundation students attend their very first day of school.
